With the rail track opened Saturday morning 10th January, we are still working at clearing the backlog
of freight that both the derailment, and some cancelled rail services, have caused. Our delay timing
has reduced, and we are now working with 6-8 days delay into and ex WA, and we are prioritizing
freight wherever possible to decrease this timing. We have additionally been advised that both Pacific
National and Aurizon have cancelled some services on Australia Day.

Pacific National confirms that a train derailment occurred last evening approximately 35 kilometres east of Spencer Junction, near Port Augusta SA. There are no reported injuries to crew members or the public.

The track is closed and the cause of the incident is currently under investigation. The PN team is working closely with emergency services, including fire and police authorities, to manage the situation and establish the subsequent recovery plan in order to restore operations as quickly as possible. Regrettably, CEVA will experience delays into and ex WA as a result of the derailment. (Noting that we were already working through delays with the derailment in Newport VIC in late December.) Currently we envisage delays of 8-10 days on this corridor however we will be actively managing this unforeseen situation. We are looking at significant delays of approx. 10-12 business days into, ex, and indeed via these regions.
